Milk turning warm on the top shelf. Ice cream soft in the freezer. Water pooling under the crisper drawers. A fridge gives you clues before it quits, and we read them. Our techs work on Wichita refrigerators of every type, side-by-side, French door, bottom freezer, and the older single-door units still humming in a lot of 67203 basements. We check the compressor, the condenser coils, the defrost system, and the door seals before we say a word about parts. We repair all major brands as an independent shop. We cover Wichita ZIPs including 67202, 67204, 67207 and 67209, plus Derby, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center and Andover.
Aim for the upper 30s in the fresh food side and around zero in the freezer. Set a glass of water on a middle shelf overnight, then check it with a thermometer. Readings well above that range point to airflow or defrost trouble.
If it's leaking water or making a loud grinding noise, unplug it and move food to a cooler. Otherwise leave it running. Keeping the doors shut holds cold air in for hours and gives us useful clues on arrival.
Not always. Some hums, pops, and gurgles are normal defrost and refrigerant sounds. Repeated clicking, a rattling fan blade, or a squeal that grows louder over days is worth a look before it becomes a bigger failure.
Frost means moist air is getting in or the defrost system stopped working. Common causes include a torn gasket, a door left ajar, a failed defrost heater, or a bad thermostat. Scraping it out only buys time.
Most days we can offer a same-week window, and sometimes sooner if a truck is already on your side of town. Call us early and we'll tell you honestly what's open. If your fridge is warming up, say so — we try to move food emergencies up the list.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe the noise, the smell, the error code, the puddle. We ask about the brand and rough age so the van carries likely parts.
Our technician tests the machine instead of guessing. Water lines, heating elements, drain pumps, control boards. Then we explain what failed, in plain words, before any wrench turns.
Common parts ride with us, so many repairs finish that visit. Special-order parts get scheduled promptly. We run the cycle with you watching, then haul off the old part and packaging.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
