Baking two batches and getting two different results means your oven is not holding temperature. A worn bake element, a drifting sensor, or a bad control board can each do it. Sometimes the oven never preheats. Sometimes the broiler works and the bake does not. Doors that will not latch or seal bleed heat, too, especially in older Chicago kitchens where hinges have loosened over decades. We work on electric and gas ovens across all major brands, independently. Tell us what a thermometer reads inside versus what the display says. Call us or send the quote form.

We cover the Loop and South Loop in 60601 through 60605, the West Side around 60607 and 60608, plus Cicero, Oak Park, Berwyn, and Evanston.
Usually one heat source is doing all the work. A failed broil element or a lazy igniter leaves the bake side struggling alone. A sensor reading high can also stop the cycle early. Testing tells us which. Call us with the model number.
Sensors are sealed probes, so they get replaced rather than repaired. The good news is the part sits at the back wall and comes out with two screws. We measure its resistance cold before deciding anything.
Treat unlit gas seriously. If you smell gas, shut the supply valve, open windows, and step outside before calling. Clicking with no smell usually means the ignition circuit is trying and failing, which is a repair, not an emergency.
Self-clean pushes cavity temperatures very high, and that heat is hard on door latches, thermal fuses, and control boards. On older ranges we suggest hand cleaning instead. Many no-heat calls arrive the day after a self-clean cycle.
Tell us your ZIP when you call and we'll give you the next open window, often same week. Traffic and parking matter here, so we book by area to keep drive times sane. If you're in a walk-up or a building with a service elevator, mention it so we plan the trip right.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe the noise, the smell, the error code, the puddle. We ask about the brand and rough age so the van carries likely parts.
Our technician tests the machine instead of guessing. Water lines, heating elements, drain pumps, control boards. Then we explain what failed, in plain words, before any wrench turns.
Common parts ride with us, so many repairs finish that visit. Special-order parts get scheduled promptly. We run the cycle with you watching, then haul off the old part and packaging.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the fault, approve the written quote, get it fixed. Starting takes about a minute.
